BioplumeTM has a real competing advantage allowing cost saving and fast access to treatment. Hence, this innovative technology is a tool which will multiply by 10 even 100 the spots density and will thus make possible to increase the capacities of multiplex analyses in a single experiment. The added value of this technology of miniaturization relies on:
- more information, less time
- more cost-saving, less biological samples
- more sensitivity, less heterogeneity

Such miniaturized tools open promising ways to speed up the identification of effective therapies by proposing suitable and powerful tools for the study of the various stages of pathology, from diagnosis to therapy strategy.

The added value of BioplumeTM lies on the significant increase in the speed of obtaining information and the sensitivity of technology detection.
Nanoarrays, products from BioplumeTM, will thus enable to:
- work with spots of size of about 10 µm diameter (100 - 150 µm diameter for current technologies of deposit), therefore:
       - to increase in an important way the density of deposit, that is to say, the quantity of molecules on the same surface and/or the number of different biological samples (usually, only one sample is tested with other technologies),
       - and to considerably decrease the quantity of solutions to be deposited (pg, fL instead of ng and pL with current techniques),
- to decrease the quantity of biological samples to characterize. This feature is of importance because some clinical samples are very precious because difficult of access, which is the case for CSF,
- to reduce the costs of research.

Such miniaturized tools provide a richer biological information - multiplex - allowing savings of precious samples - miniaturisation - and thus open promising ways to accelerate development of methods of diagnosis and effective therapies for diseases such as cancers and neurodegenerative disorders.

In addition to Nanoarrays purposes, MBC demonstrated the benefit of BioplumeTM for different kind of nanopatterning applications:
- Spot in spot deposition
- Single cell microarray
- Biosensor functionalization (SPR, optical fiber and microelectrodes).

 MicroBioChips' nanoarrayer: Bioplume

MicroBioChips has initiated the incorporation of BioplumeTM into automated and robust platform.

No equivalent is available today on the market and this new scale of miniaturization, allows new applications, which were impossible to consider using current protein microarrays.

You will find soon further information on BioplumeTM and Nanoarrays products on MicroBioChips web site.
